阀杆 Inclusive 卓越 集体

Learning Assistant (LA) Program
2024年秋季

LAs are undergraduate students who serve as peer instructors in the classroom to support student learning, primarily via facilitating group work 和 classroom community.  LAs attend class meetings, meet weekly with the course instructor, 和 learn about the science of teaching. It's a great way for Bears to support Bears, gain experience, 并得到报酬!  If you have at least a 2.0 GPA 和 have passed the course with an A, B or C, you are eligible to apply. The priority application deadline is March 24, 2024--but apply early as we will begin reviewing applications immediately. 额外的 信息: Full position description

LAs are needed for BIO 110, BIO 220, CHEM 111, CHEM 281, 和 GEOL 100.

Teaching for Inclusion 和 & 股本

The 阀杆-IEC is delighted to be collaborating with CETL on the Teaching for Inclusion 和 股本 (TIE) program. Since Spring 2021, TIE program facilitators have guided faculty cohorts from across the UNC campus as they explore how to create 和 sustain inclusive classroom environments. The TIE program is a natural extension of our IETSW程序 和 benefits from the curriculum developed 和 implemented by folks associated with the 阀杆-IEC 和 Inclusive 卓越 grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. 卡西Bergstrom, a Co-PI on the HHMI grant 和 IETSW developer 和 facilitator, provides support for the TIE facilitators.

UNC's 阀杆 Inclusive 卓越 集体 (阀杆-IEC) engages with campus administrators, faculty, 和 students to create a climate of inclusive excellence in 阀杆 on campus.

为什么是集体?  Because addressing inequities is hard, 和 not something we can 独自解决.  A collective is a group of individuals who act together to influence 一个结果.  The 阀杆-IEC is focused on taking collective action 和 supporting each other as we explore ways to change 和 improve our campus.

What is Inclusive 卓越?

...an active process through which colleges 和 universities achieve excellence in learning, teaching, student development, institutional functioning 和 engagement in local 和 global communities.
